RE: site question for san clemente state beach CA

We camp at San Clemente State Beach at least 2 times a year. There are tables and firepits. The tables are wooden moveable tables, but in the full hook-up area there are about 10 sites, that still have the old rock and cement tables, they hold about 6 people. Fire pits are a round steel cylinder with a half grate flipping over the top, for cooking/bbq'ing/etc. If you are in the dry camp area, I believe that most of the sites have a wood cabana, with a wood table and the cylinder firepit. What area are you in? Have a great trip! We'll be there for the 4th of July week. It's a great campground!

RE: Vidalia Onions

"Marinated Grilled Onions" marinade ... 3/4 cup soy sauce 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 cloves garlic - minced 1 piece ginger - grated 1 tablespoon sesame seeds 1/4 cup water 2 green onions - thinly sliced 1 tablespoon oil 1 tablespoon booze - tequila, bourbon (your choice) Peel and slice the Vidalia or Texas Sweet onion, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices. Lay the slices in a dish, pour the marinade over the onions and let them marinate for 1 - 2 hours. Grill on a medium hot grill, turning over once and adding marinade as they cook. Grill them to your desired doneness. We tend to like them slightly crispy. This marinade is also great on flank steak, skirt steak and chicken.
